Accessibility statement

This statement covers www.batteryhealthcheck.co.uk. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom or other assistive technology.

The standard we aim for

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

How far the site meets it

The site partly meets WCAG 2.2 AA. The known gaps are listed below.

How we test

Before each release we run automated checks on eleven key pages, including this one, at desktop and phone sizes. They cover:

  • the WCAG 2.2 AA rules in axe-core, an automated accessibility checker
  • text contrast
  • the keyboard: the menus, the skip link and the Tab order of each page
  • reduced motion, and pinch zoom
  • reflow at 320 pixels wide, with no sideways scrolling
  • a label on every form field, and the state of every toggle

On 5 November 2026 those pages passed every check. We have not yet tested the site by hand with a screen reader.

Known gaps

As of 5 November 2026:

  • The Nissan partner page: some text and links fall below the contrast minimum, the links in its sources differ from the text around them by colour alone, and at 320 pixels wide two of its buttons run past the edge of the screen.
  • The marketing kit: the green "Do" labels on the example images fall below the contrast minimum.
  • The battery readout comparison: on a phone, its comparison table scrolls sideways, but not from the keyboard.
  • The AVILOO FLASH video on the trade home page has no captions.
  • Services run by others: booking a meeting opens Calendly, the dealer sign-up form uses a Cloudflare Turnstile check, and each battery certificate is a PDF issued by AVILOO. We do not control how accessible these are.

We aim to fix the gaps on our own pages by 31 January 2027.
